Dog Potty Training – How To Potty Train Your Dog More Effectively
I am currently potty training my puppy chihuahua and I am using potty pads. She uses them to pee but she poops everywhere else. She was better at pooping on the pads when I first started training her but now has reverted back pooping everywhere. Any suggestions or tips?
I am actually going to have my mom help me with her this week because my mom used to train dogs. I do not scold her when I find a mess she has done previously I have done plenty of research on everything to do with my puppy and I choose pads because right now they work better with my schedule and location not because I am “lazy” but I do believe you have the right to believe what every you will.
I have been wondering this for a while. I know some people train their dog to ring a bell beside the door, but that’s not all that common. So, are they meant to whine at the door, scratch at it, or just wait intil you take them out? Any help is much appreciated, I’m just a bit confused!

my 3. 5 yr. old chihuahua has recently started pooping in the house. He was fully housebroken before (ok, he had an OCCASIONAL accident 2 or 3 times a year, always poop) but now it’s almost everyday, sometimes when we are at home in the next room over. The poop picks right off the carpet without leaving a stain or anything, but to us, it’s not the poop itself that is bothering us but his reasoning for doing it. He knows how to communicate to us that he needs to go outside and often does. Does anyone know why my dog would all of the sudden be behaving like this? I just had him at the vet 8 wks. ago for his shots and he received a clean bill of health. He is happy and lively. I just don’t know why he would be behaving like this?
I have a 4 month old toy chihuahua. I am trying to crate train him and he is just not getting it. He will go potty in his small crate, and we have to give him a bath almost daily because he gets covered in his poo. We only leave him alone for between 4-6 hours, which is unavoidable with work and school. What I don’t understand is that he doesn’t seem to mind (and hasn’t since we got him) that he soils his close space. How can I get him to try to keep his crate clean so we don’t have to do daily baths and crate cleanings?
