just curious. I feed my dog about a 1/4 cup of food per day and he doesn’t finish it daily. he’s active and his intake is not being substituted with treats. he’s 9 weeks old.
so i should cut the 1/4 cup a day total into 1/8 in the morning and 1/8 in the afternoon?
2 year old chihuahua no pre-existing conditions or history of seizures had a Petit Mal Seizure today. We are going to speak to our vet but just wanted opinions from people who have been through this what might be the cause? Thank you
My stepmum has the most annoying little chihuahua in the history of the world. Anyway I am getting a dog and I want one that will scare her dog into not being so annoying. The chihuahua would never be in any harm because it is always next to my stepmum but if you meet this dog you would know what I mean. Any suggestions on dog breeds? Like I said, the chihuahua would never be in any harm despite what dog breed my dog is. Thanks in advance.
J' an old shepherd 3 months German Quand I have will be able to make it leave the formation of case?
I crate training my puppy she IS 10 weeks and i wondering as i When crate training far away Should accelerator crate in the room as ME Sami acres When we sleeping?
Yes she is very tiny, she is 3. 12 lbs, we had to weigh her on a kitchen scale! LOL Would luv a funny/ironic type name. . . radar is cute. . . hubby said that one too. . . looking for something girlie but ironic/funny. . . is there such a thing? You can see pics of her here: http://www. picturetrail. com/pnkholt
I have had Yorkies before, and love their temperments and that they do not shed, and everything else about them.
But, I was considering getting a Chihuahua because the grooming is alot less, and they are generally smaller in size and weight.
I want a dog that is NOT bred for size, but quality. But I still want a small dog (4 pounds)
That’s very hard to get for a GOOD Yorkie breeder, who breeds for quality and not for size.
In my area anyway.
I’m not sure about the difference between Yorkies and Chihuahuas.
I’ve researched them both, so I have an idea about how Chihuahuas are, but not from experience.
Either way, it’s give and take . . . I know I can’t have EVERYTHING I want in a breed or the dog I get.
So, I’m trying to see if from your personal experiences with them, which would you say is the best?
things I’d like to have in the dog I get:
- sweet temperment
- loyal
- not difficult to train
- not very “chatty” doesn’t bark at EVERYTHING
- wants to cuddle with me. . . not demanding to only play all the time, but wants to cuddle also
- small and weighs around 4 pounds
- preferably not shedding, but can shed a small amount
- socializes well with other people and also with other dogs
- attached to me
I work from home and I will be here ALL day to spend time with him. . . I’d like a MALE by the way, buying as a pet. . . neutering at 6 months.
So I’m hoping to have a dog that will be attached to me and just be able to bond in a companionship kind of way.
what would be considered a “reasonable” expectation?
If I spend $500 + on a dog, my expectations should be set a little high, in my opinion.
Expectations mean, to me, how they are bred (show quality or not), what their temperments are, if they LOOK like the breed that they are, if they are bred by reputable breeders who care about each individual puppy and Dam and Sire they have, and if they are within standard guidelines.
Because many people think its a “sin” to buy a dog that is anything else outside of what qualifies that breed. . . so I have decided that being picky and not settling for a BYB or a Puppy Mill puppy, is what I will do
